Migrant Workers’ Remittance Options to Their Home Countries

Migrant workers in Taiwan can transfer money back to their home countries through two channels:

  1. Banks (e.g., Bangkok Bank charges a remittance fee of NT$600 per transaction)

  2. Non-Bank Money Transfer Services – Approved by Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission, two non-bank providers are allowed to use banking channels to send money overseas via partner banks or through convenience stores. These services allow 24/7 transfers via mobile apps, with funds arriving in the recipient’s account within hours.
