Area of Responsibility of the Kaohsiung Labor Office

Currently, the Kaohsiung Labor Office is tasked with protecting Thai workers and promoting employment (with approximately 21,951 Thai workers as of February 2025) in 8 cities in southern Taiwan, including:

1. Kaohsiung City

   • Area: 2,948.4 square kilometers

   • Population: Approximately 2,742,000

   • Industrial Parks: 9 parks, including Dase, Linyuan, Renwu, Dafa, Fengshan, Yong’an, Linhai, Qianzhen, and Nanzih.

2. Tainan City

   • Area: 2,191.6 square kilometers

   • Population: Approximately 1,852,000

   • Industrial Parks: 9 parks, including Anping, Yongkang, Guantian, Xinying, Tainan Science Park, Wanli, Heshun, Qingyonghan, and Bao’an.

3. Chiayi City

   • Area: 1,961.85 square kilometers

   • Population: Approximately 831,000

   • Industrial Parks: 6 parks, including Hunei, Minsyong, Touqiao, Jiada, Puzih, and Yizhu.

4. Taitung County

   • Area: 3,515 square kilometers

   • Population: Approximately 244,000

   • Industrial Parks: 1 park, Fengle Industrial Park.

5. Pingtung County

   • Area: 2,775.6 square kilometers

   • Population: Approximately 906,000

   • Industrial Parks: 3 parks, including Pingtung, Pingnan, and Nianpu.

6. Yunlin County

   • Area: 1,452 square kilometers

   • Industrial Parks: 6 parks, including Douliou, Yuanlin, Liaoxin (Mailiao), Fengtian, Yuanchang, and Dajiang, with the Zhongke Industrial Park currently under construction.

7. Changhua County

   • Area: 1,075 square kilometers

   • Industrial Parks: 6 parks, including Quanxin, Jhangpin, Pitou, Fuxin, Beidou, and Dacheng.

8. Penghu County

   • Area: 126.9 square kilometers

   • Population: Approximately 92,000
