Executive Director of the Thailabd Trade and Economic Office with Director of the Kaohsiung Labour Office, met Mr. Chen, Governor of Kaohsiung City.

On February 26, 2025, Mr. Narong Boonsatheanwong Executive Director of the Thailabd Trade and Economic Office, along with Mr. Nuthchyawach Sanguanchaiyakrit, Director of the Kaohsiung Labour Office, met with Mr. Chen, Governor of Kaohsiung City. They exchanged ideas on enhancing cooperation between Thailand and Taiwan in various dimensions, particularly in labour, tourism in Thailand, investment in the semiconductor industry, and organizing Thai cultural activities in Kaohsiung City. The Executive Director expressed gratitude to the Kaohsiung City administration for prioritizing and taking excellent care of Thai workers. Currently, there are 6,000 Thai workers employed in Kaohsiung City.

Governor Chen noted that Kaohsiung residents greatly enjoy Thai cuisine, culture, and traveling to Thailand. Kaohsiung investors also recognize Thailand’s potential for investment and urged the promotion of direct flights from Kaohsiung to other Thai provinces. The Executive Director seized the opportunity to reaffirm the Thai Trade Office’s commitment to strengthening people-to-people ties between Thailand and Kaohsiung City, as well as promoting investment opportunities in Thailand for Kaohsiung investors.

Finally, the Executive Director emphasized Thailand’s focus on welcoming Taiwanese tourists, with 1.2 million visitors traveling to Thailand in 2024, and pledged to facilitate their convenience and safety. (Source: Thai Trade and Economic Office, Taipei)
